Vasco Garcez is a hybrid athlete and coach based in Porto. After a decade competing across HYROX, CrossFit and endurance racing, he built RoxZone as the system he wished existed when he started — structured, progressive, and ruthlessly specific to the demands of hybrid competition.

He coaches a small roster of athletes 1:1 — from first-time HYROX competitors to podium contenders — and writes the programming for every RoxZone subscriber.

About 1:1 Coaching

Six pillars: a personalised training plan updated weekly, direct messaging access to Vasco, monthly video calls, race-specific periodisation (build, peak, taper), nutrition and recovery guidance, and full programming delivery through the Strivee App. Every athlete also gets race-week protocols engineered around their specific goal events.

Hybrid Plans deliver structured weekly programming designed for a broad athlete base — you follow the same training week as other athletes at your level. 1:1 Coaching is fully personalised: every session is written specifically for you, adapted to your recovery, your race calendar, and your weak points. No — Vasco coaches athletes across all levels, from first-time HYROX competitors to podium contenders. What matters is your commitment to the process. The application form asks for your current level and goals so Vasco can confirm fit during the intro call before you start.

Yes — RoxZone coaches athletes worldwide. All programming is delivered through the Strivee App, with monthly video calls and direct messaging across time zones. Current athletes are based in Portugal, Spain, UK and beyond. Distance is not a barrier when the system is built for remote delivery.
Process & Logistics

Apply immediately. Programming starts within 48 hours of the intro call. For shorter timeframes, Vasco builds a focused peak-and-taper protocol from your current fitness state — making the most of every session before race day. Most athletes prefer 12-16 weeks of preparation, but meaningful work can be done in 4-6 weeks for athletes already in shape.

Yes — coaching is month-to-month with no long-term contract. You can pause or cancel anytime, no penalties or hidden fees. Most athletes commit to a minimum 12-week block to see meaningful progression, but the flexibility is yours. Re-entry to the roster depends on availability.

Programming is updated weekly based on your performance logs, recovery state and any feedback through direct messaging. Vasco reviews your training data before each new block and adjusts volume, intensity and exercise selection accordingly. For acute recovery issues — illness, injury, life events — adjustments happen in real time.

Vasco Garcez is a sub-1:00 HYROX Pro athlete with over a decade of experience competing across HYROX, CrossFit and endurance racing (2:48 marathon, sub-17 5K). He holds HYROX Master Trainer and Strength & Conditioning certifications. He's coached 500+ athletes and writes the programming for every RoxZone subscriber.
